Thanks Boycie - plenty more 'Robbery' images to come, I just wish it didn't take so bl**dy long to load 'em ll up..! (Same goes for the other threads I'm already posting pics on, I'm also planning on doing a very picture heavy one on 'Villain' next). Looking forward to seeing the Mk2 Jag when you've finished it Villain Nice one Villain

Enjoy It doesn't matter how many times I've watched that, I never get tired of it... brilliantly done all round... About twenty years ago Classic & Sportscar mag did a feature on buying S-Types and 'Robbery' was mentioned a lot, along with a couple of stills from the film (and one from 'Villain' as well). ''Bloody copper...!!" Villain

You can see how the long boot S types, don't handle. Would thought they would have been fitted with Winkworth bells, back then? Even the Ambulance has a two tone.

The film was shot in March and April '67, it may have been around the time that changes were made to the sirens used by the Met and other forces. Mind you some of it was overdubbed anyway. With Peter Yates directing in an almost documentary style, the handheld cameras in the cars would have had sound as well, in some shots you can tell but in others it's difficult to say either way. Definitely a benchmark film and it still stands up really well nearly five decades on Villain

Another one of my fav's!Thinking of getting a Blu-ray player just to see those extras! I can very much recommend a BluRay player Jon. They are worth the minimal outlay and will also play all your old DVDs too.

my s type ex met car was im told fitted with a winkworth bell and two tones,,its a 66 d reg,,only known survivor from the batch supplied that year to the met according to brian seamans who owns a restored f registered met s type..
EYE 419C and CGW777B ,the cars used in the film interest me obviously,,reasons being they have london reg marks,,but have a standard interior,,NOT the ambla plastic seats and black dash/delete rev counter etc than apparently all met cars had,,
no doubt they are genuine police cars,,no flying cat on bonnet,,,,maybe these were not "met" cars,,,can anyone shed light on the whole truth please?,,
incidentally,,in villain KYU 3--D Pulls up to nick lowis,a black s type with single light only,,a car just out of service i assume then used for filmwork,,mine is KYU 362D!..................

With many classic films finally being released on Blu-ray over recent months, yes, it is definitely worth buying a player now. I got my copy of Robbery yesterday, as the there is 40% off some British film titles at Network right now. I hopefully will watch it soon. Vienna
