I think the best looking cars were the ones from the 2000-08 era Del although do like the current ones better than the ones from 2014-16. As for Halo not really noticed it that much to be honest and some teams paint schemes do hide/blend it in fairly well.

Post 2000 I'd say yes the 03 to 06 were great looking cars by 08 they had got a bit to busy with winglets everywhere but of course the design is directed and restricted by the regulations of the time.
As for now the floor only area seems to get bigger every year.

I'm not going to the race this year (and luckily I didn't buy tickets as I've been sick as a dog the last few days). There is plenty of coverage on tv here so I will be watching. This year the halo piece on the cars is strange. It really looks like it impedes the driver's centre view. Surely it could have been designed better than that ! Bottas' spin into the wall in Qualifying 3 was a shock ! That's really affected his grid position. Lewis Hamilton set a new lap record to get pole position. Dan Ricciardo has been a bit vocal about his grid position penalty but I think he's just got to wear it and get on with the race. Plenty of others have had to put up with severe penalties over the years. There is so much pressure and media attention on him here. Here are the driver positions. Race starts in 1 hour ! Good luck everyone. 1. LEWIS HAMILTON 2. KIMI RAIKKONEN 3. SEBASTIAN VETTEL 4. MAX VERSTAPPEN 5. KEVIN MAGNUSSEN 6. ROMAIN GROSJEAN 7. NICO HULKENBERG 8. DANIEL RICCIARDO 9. CARLOS SAINZ JR 10. FERNANDO ALONSO 11. STOFFEL VANDOORNE 12. SERGIO PEREZ 13. LANCE STROLL 14. ESTEBAN OCON 15. VALTTERI BOTTAS 16. BRENDON HARTLEY 17. MARCUS ERICSSON 18. CHARLES LECLERC 19. SERGEY SIROTKIN 20. PIERRE GASLY

It was a race full of surprises, and therefore probably a good start for the racing season. As has been reported everywhere, Mercedes lost the race as much as Ferrari managing to win. Does Vettel owe Grosjean a drink or what ?! Hamilton drove an impeccable race but you wouldn't expect to be beaten out of first position because of the virtual safety car. Quoting from FoxSports.com.au page, "Magnussen pitted from fourth on Lap 23 but failed to come up to speed, parking the Haas off the road on the inside of Turn 4. Replays suggested his left-rear wheel hadn’t been fitted properly. Grosjean assumed the place but pitted two laps later, only to also immediately retire on the inside of Turn 2 with the same issue. The Frenchman’s exit triggered a Virtual Safety Car, Bottas and Vandoorne pitting immediately to take advantage. The big benefactor was Vettel. He pitted from the lead a lap later, emerging from the lane still holding the lead just ahead of Hamilton." Good job Daniel Ricciardo with 4th behind a still incredibly strong competitive driver, Kimi Raikkonen in 3rd place. Amazing that he is looking at retiring this year. Go another year Kimi ! Nice to see Fernando Alonso finish a race with a good 5th. Next to Bahrain...

I'll try and watch this on catch up this weekend but very interesting race and seems that favour and luck has helped Vettel and McLaren in the race as without Haas's mess up's no way Seb would have won this and neither would the Mac's got 5th and 6th. Still like a bit of unpredictability here and glad the McLaren's got a decent result for a change too. Thanks for the reviews and Red Bull stuff too BG as well.

Well that was a good race. Plenty of action throughout and a close finish.(No pun intended) Feel sorry for the Ferrari mechanic who copped it. Hopefully he makes a speedy recovery.
