If the quality is as good as the Thunderbirds version it will be worth looking forward to .

What are your thoughts on this great show?!
I thought it was stunningly stylised (being set in 2068) and the writing/production of it was sublime. Couple that with the genius of Gerry Anderson and his team and you really do have a winner. Can you tell I love it?!
With regards to the stories and characters I thought that it was just as entertaining for adults as it was for children, it really seems to bridge the gap between a kids show and proper grown-ups show!!! Fun for all the family!
A great show that I can quite happily watch today.

Don't think I've seen episodes in their entirety although I might have done in my childhood and since forgot! Of course that would have been repeat showings in the late 70's, or early 80's. Probably overshadowed by Thunderbirds and Joe 90, but it seemed pretty well written and devised.
You mention that it would have appealed to adults as much, my dad used to watch it when it first came out just before he met my mum, as I wasn't born till '71, so there you are!
The merchandise of the vehicles seen in the series was produced by Dinky toys and mint examples are highly collectible today. I did read some behind the scenes chat about the series in a book about ITC series I read once. Roger Moore claimed Scarletts facial appearance was based on him, but this is denied by other sources. Francis Matthews did Scarletts voice. It was also intended that it would be "darker" than the other Supermarionation series.

A great show that I can quite happily watch today. Yes, I remember watching when if first came out in 67, my favourite Anderson show after Thunderthighs (sorry birds). As you state, brilliantly made, especially for the time. My kids can't get over them being puppets but it adds to the charisma of the show IMO.

Admin note: Palmer's thread on Captain Scarlet has now been merged with Virgil Tracy's original thread.
I do recall watching Captain Scarlet when it was first broadcast and again when it was repeated back in the very early 90's. Our son (like me) really enjoyed Thunderbirds so it was a natural progression to continue on with Captain Scarlet. We even had a full uniform made for him one Christmas although the shoulder lamps didn't work as duffle coat buttons were used instead.
When they were released on DVD we bought the box set as we did with Thunderbirds, Stingray, and Joe 90.
In my previous post I mentioned the MSV that would at some stage be converted to run on a Scalextric track, I now have the SPV and the Patrol Car too as well as a 3D printer so with some 3D CAD work I might be able to make these a reality.
Perhaps I should rename the track to Scarletric....
Sam.

Mind you, things went downhill after Scarlet. Joe 90 was a bit tame and there was a dreadful series called The Secret Service with Stanley Unwin as a voice actor would you believe.

Remember watching Captain Scarlet on Saturday mornings in 1984/85. A few years ago, I watched both the CGI version and the original puppet one which seemed quite violent for a kids' show in the early eps but got a bit more toned down as it went along. I suppose they were trying to make it darker than the other Supermarionation shows.

It was quite different in tone to Thunderbirds when hardly anybody ever died and if they did you never saw bodies, or broken puppets. CS was quite violent in comparison. All the Supermarionation stuff in the 60's was great but Thunderbirds was a triumph, IMO. Beautifully made and very exciting for a young kid, the theme music and little snippets of upcoming action was fabulous.

I quite liked Joe 90 (as a spectacle wearer it gave me a bit of hope!!) but I have to agree about The Secret Service... Quite odd to say the least!!
