And there's a bit of art there too! I think you've misspelt that The Gene Genie.

Great thread and pics. Michael Caine is my favourite actor and lots of his films appear in my top ten: Get Carter, Funeral In Berlin, The Ipcress File, The Italian Job for example. Thanks Villain for the pics.

Yes, classic film. I hadn't realised 2 Jags were used either.

Villain, nice pics bud.. The film is just so iconic and nostalgic! As mentioned ya never tire of watching it.. Caine's cheeky confident sense of humour was just right for the character.. One of my favorate scenes is the club where jack chases Thorpey! Where it shows the dance floor with all the sexy Gals the image the look is just quality would of love to have been there, but hey would we have appreciated it the same, since we are just I guess just comparing it to a maybe a night out in a club nowadays, but hey I think that's 60s era was summit else! Couldn't wait for the blu Ray realise but I was slightly disappointed except for the sound quality, but thought the picture would be outstanding since the DVD version was good, but then they had to go and dub John Bindon's voice. Shame Jack got shot though ????

Great thread and love the photos Villain. I managed to get two different soundtrack CDs in about 1999 that include some of the dialogue. Always one if my favourite films from the first time I saw it about thirty years ago and it was never that common on TV.
Some of you will be aware that in the opening scenes when Jack is being told by the Fletchers not to go up to Newcastle, the dialogue in the film was changed for the American market as they didn't want to confuse the American audiences with British slang. Nose is used instead of bugle in the line "They won't take kindly to someone from London poking his bugle in" and butt is used instead of b***ock in the line "b***ock naked with 'is socks still on" when one of the gangsters is watching a porn film as part of the same scene.
Whenever the film has been shown on ITV4 in recent years, it's only ever the American version that's shown although I still have a video of the film from the late 80s which has the original British slang.
