Always remember these as a Kid: Great memories - I think that was Pat Combes' voice on the Just Musk ad. Around Xmas in the 70s they would always roll out the ads for those liqueurs that would stay in the drinks cupboard for all but one week of the year and this was one of them.... ...which led itself to the inevitable parody....

You'd never see these Harp Lager adverts these days!

You'd never see these Harp Lager adverts these days! Clever and catchy ads, but it always brings to mind the parody in an episode of The Young Ones.

Whatever happened to Skol lager eh...??!!
P.S. Do any Sweeney fans recognise the cardigan wearing lothario at the start of the advert (CLUE: He loved his iron weights)...??!!

Thankfully you don't see the ordinary Skol much these days although some of the tramps in my local town drink Skol Super! Steed

It is worrying to think that Skol held a Royal Warrant isn't it...??!!
I wonder who it was in the royal household that enjoyed a 'brighter pint' or three?!

There was a beer ad in the 70s which I have tried and failed to find online for John Smith's (I think). It featured a group of Yorkshire hikers and had Fred Feast from Coronation Street looking at the scenery and proclaiming What a beautiful sight...you don't find 'owt like it outside Yorkshire...etc whilst his mates enthusiastically agree, but they're looking at a pub not the scenery. The weird part was though in reality the pub, just 10 minutes drive from where I live, was actually in Lancashire.

Found this crop today.
There is a mix of years here and I'm struggling to place some of them accurately :
1 The Heineken ad looks to be 85 to 88. 2 The BSM one i don't remember and looks to be 83 to 85 perhaps. 3 The Fruitpastels Fruitbat campaign I do remember but again exactly when I'm stumped. I guess this was 88 to 90. 4 The Classic Scotch ad ran for years on and off so will say mid 80s was its heyday. 5 It jumps to an ad for Buttercup cough syrup with Simon Pegg and his very mid 90s hairdo.
What do you guys reckon ?

I had a look at some beer ads today but didn't bump into to one matching the storyline above. I'll keep my eyes out for it. In the meantime this had me laughing. Gratuitous 70s sexism, a half cut cast and a copy of nod to the likely lads with the pair at the bar better times
