Pat Boone dealt very well with the situation there, but fancy doing the lasso trick when you have a syrup on. Asking for trouble.
I think John Wayne had a good attitude to syrups. He didn't give a damn about going without it, but he knew his fans preferred him to wear one.

The wife met Peter and shook hands with him years ago when he was up in these parts covering a byelection. I'll have to ask her if she noticed a syrup on his head at the time.
She is usually spot on sussing them out, although she didn't know that the Duke wore one ?

No photographic evidence for the prosecution I'm afraid, but two which spring to mind are to be found plonked on the same actor's head, namely Joss Ackland, first in 'The Persuaders' in 1971 and again in 'Return Of The Saint' in 1978. The first one isn't so bad really (it's actually part of the plot) but the second one is truly awful, he's supposed to be playing the hardest hitman in Europa but looks more like a character from a Benny Hill sketch! It's the only really duff moment in what is otherwise an excellent series. Villain

Oh dear that's a bad one. I think some of these guys are used to wearing hair pieces whilst working so think I'll wear one in my my private life. The self fitting must be letting the side down

Anthony Valentine wore a hairpiece for most of his career, he stopped wearing one late in life. He made a rare appearance without it in the Yorkshire tv serial 'Killer' from 1984.
